Every Tuesday we run an art class which is available to all residents. We aim to have relaxing sessions where we socialise and create art together as a group. Art is a great hobby to take up as it allows you to relax, enjoy and be creative. It is a great place to meet new faces and make new friends as we encourage a positive, friendly environment.
Leon Gallagher, our Art Teacher
“My name is Leon Gallagher I’m a self-taught artist. I've been teaching art in and around Birmingham for over 5 years and working with clients that are recovering from substance misuse. I've been in recovery myself for nearly 6 years and through my art groups I have built confidence in helping others to express their feelings through art. The art class allows the residents chance of being a part of a group and a sense of achievement”.
Leon’s art class is not only to help others with their personal difficulties, it is a place for those to unwind, relax and bond with other residents. The art class provides a space to gain traits such as creative, social and other development skills. We welcome along any of our residents who are willing to take part in this activity as it provides many attributes and a place for people who seek a peaceful hobby to take up.
Our current residents here at the art class have true talent and potential to produce good quality art pieces for loved ones which we have currently displayed in our head office. Leon also has he’s own artwork around the head office which adds a nice, colourful touch to the work environment.
Leon’s Art Class are on every Tuesday from 11am to 2pm for anybody who’s willing to take part. Please ring the office to see where the art class is being held.
