Referral Process 

At New Roots, we place residents based on whether there's a suitable vacancy or not.

In order to do this, a referral needs to be taken. Referrals can be done by yourself, or through an outside agency such as probation. During the referral process, questions are asked such as your previous housing situation, any past convictions and what support you'd like. No need to worry, these questions are asked purely so that we can find the most suitable vacancy for yourself as well as support you the best we can and for monitoring purposes!

Once the referral form has been taken (either face to face in the head office or over the phone) a placement officer will speak to our support team and service providers with the aim of finding you a vacancy within 30 minutes!

Once a vacancy has been found, you can go to the property on the same day.

We currently manage over 1800 beds to help support adult homelessness in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

Our accommodation is supervised and supported 24/7 and complies to local and national government standards.

All New Roots properties provide:

• A room which you can access 24 hours a day
• 24 hour management
• Your own or communal bathing facilities
• Kitchen facilities
• Access to laundry facilities​
• Cleaning of communal areas
  
• General care and support from support workers, on site staff as well as head office management and the housing team
